Welcome!!!

My name is Lacey Cusatis and this is my fourth year teaching at Holy Cross. I am a dedicated Catholic educator who believes that teaching is more than a profession—it is a vocation and an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children. This is my thirteenth-year teaching and my twelfth-year teaching through the Diocese of Wilmington. I graduated from the University of Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science in Early Education. As a first-grade teacher, I am passionate about creating a classroom environment where every child feels welcomed, valued, supported, and loved. I believe that each child is uniquely created by God with his or her own gifts, talents, strengths, and learning styles, and I strive to help each student recognize and develop those God-given gifts. My goal is to educate the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually—while fostering curiosity, confidence, perseverance, kindness, and a strong work ethic. My Catholic faith is an important part of who I am and is woven into my teaching as I encourage my students to live out the values of faith, compassion, respect, service, and love for others. I feel blessed to partner with families and help my students grow into confident, compassionate, and faith-filled individuals. Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family, which includes my husband, our two children, our two dogs, and our bearded dragon. My daughter is a sixth grader at Holy Cross, and my son is going into first grade. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach, learn, and grow alongside my students each year and consider it a true blessing to be part of their educational journey.
