Wednesday – Write a sentence using one word from Reading List #13 and draw a picture to go with it

Thursday –   Draw a picture of your leprechaun trap and write a sentence about how it will help you catch

Easter Eggs:

Kindergarten is planning to have an Easter/New Life Egg Hunt on Monday 4/13 when we return from Easter Break! We are asking for each child to bring in 12 filled plastic Easter Egg with an individually wrapped piece of candy or a small toy. We ask that you refrain from chocolate in case it is a warm day, we don't want it to melt. Please have the eggs turned into school before we leave for break by 4/1. Thanks!

 

Tying Shoes:

Please start practicing tying shoes with your child at home! Kindergarten will be working towards this throughout Trimester 3. It is included in their report card grades as a fine motor skill standard.

*Please encourage your child to borrow a book from Library each week to promote a love of reading and return the book to school every Tuesday! If you have an overdue book at home, your child may not be allowed to check out a new book until it is returned.

Tuesday -  Find 3 objects in your house that start with the letter C and write their names

Wednesday -  Help your parents with a chore. Write a sentence about how you helped

I hope everyone is finishing up their 100th Day T-shirt! You are welcome to bring it into school whenever you are finished. Please fill out the half-sheet of paper that describes your shirt and turn it back in before the fashion show on 2/20!

AR Books

Your child will bring home one AR book each week. Please read it the same night and return it the next morning in the folder. An adult must initial the highlighted section. To keep things fair and on schedule, only one night is allowed, and no extensions can be given. Thanks for helping us stay on track!

Students should start practicing the sight words from List 2 now. By the end of Trimester 2, they should know at least 15 of the 25 words. By the end of Trimester 3, students will be assessed on all 50 sight words from Lists 1 and 2.

Kindergarten students can purchase a snack in the cafeteria on Fridays. No more than $1 is needed!

Letter of the Week Tests:

Each Friday, our students take a test on the letter they have been focusing on for the week. Beginning in January, the test will include a spelling portion. The first test for letter Rr, on 1/9, students will be spelling words from Reading List #1. Please practice at home with your child. 

Accelerated Reader Program:

Our class will begin the Accelerated Reader Program (A.R.) in January! A letter with details and more information will be sent out in the Thursday Communicators when we return to school!
